Happy Birthday America The Fourth of July is just around the corner, there a lot of places to spend the day and into the night. Boulder City is starting early you can come for breakfast. The Rotary club is sponsoring a pancake breakfast located at the Bicentennial Park. With a full stomach you can move on over to Colorado (the starting point of the parade), or to Broadbent Memorial Park where the parade ends. At Broadbent Memorial Park there will be food, games and entertainment till 6pm, and then you move to Veterans Memorial Park for Fireworks at pm. If you would like to stay close to home for your Parade Summerlin's Patriotic Parade is back it will run from 9 am to 11am. It starts at Hillpointe Rd and Hills Center Dr in the Trails Village of Summerlin. Those in the parade will travel South toward Village Center Circle, then west on Trailwood Dr ending at Trials Village Shopping Center. This is a free event If you don't want to start early Henderson's party starts at 6 pm there will be live entertainment, activities for the kids. It will be held at the Henderson Water Street District. The fireworks will be on the top of City Hall. There is free parking at the Henderson City Garage, Basic rd. Downtown recreation Center on Basis Rd also the Henderson Events Plaza. This event is also free. If this doesn't suit the Station Casino's are having their own fireworks show. It will be a 9 pm. 25 WAYS TO SAVE YOUR SUMMER SANITY In case you haven't noticed the extra noise in your house, is the sound of your children home from school. I am sure they have started with I am bored what can we do. Well here is a start: Turn off the TV and computer. 1. take them to the local pool, or if one is not convenient, there are many inexpensive models for the back yard. 2. Go to the beach, it may not be the ocean, but a lake will do just as well. You might shock them by taking them in the middle of the week. 3. The Zoo would be a great place 4. water parks or an amusement park 5. Take them fishing 6. There are lots of local fairs or possibly a farmers market 7. take lessons in something that might interest them, swimming, horseback riding 8. there is nothing more fun than putt putt golf 9. you can have a picnic, this can be done in the back yard if necessary 10. start a garden 11. take the a picnic to the next level have a camp out in the backyard 12. tell them to go fly a kite, then show them how 13. Find a local park or play ground 14. There is always the favorite American past time Baseball, there is always a game Maybe it rains or to hot 1. the movie is a good place to start 2. keep some board games or coloring books put away then surprise them 3. Keep some crafts that appropriate for there ages 4. Find an indoor skating rink 5. The library has all kinds of things for all ages 6. walk the mall If you work here are some things 1. Day Camp 2. Check with your neighbors, you can help on weekends or nights 3. sports that will keep them busy between games and practices 4. have them volunteer. Rock n Roll with the Las Vegas Marathon The Las Vegas Marathon is an old standby in Las Vegas, there is an extreme makeover being done to the race, since it is under new management. The new plans for the race are that the racers will be staying on the strip. This will be a real experience for the runners who have come from out of town; they may never have another chance to run up the Strip. There will be music by local and regional bands, along the way. At each water station there will be a competition. They expect to have about 20,000 runners. This will provide a nice income for the city, because all these runners will bring family and friends. With this participation the exepected revenue will be 40 million for the community and an added 1 million in tax revenue. The race will be held December 6, 2009. Hurry up and sign of this wonderful race.

How to have fun in Las Vegas with out spending all your cash! There are numerous things to do in Las Vegas that have a nominal fee, or are free. The first would be to get your picture taken at the world famous "Welcome to Las Vegas sign." For the last 50 years it has been a must for tourists and locals to be photographed under the sign. The sign is on the National Register of Historic Places. The first one that I found fascinating was the Imperial Palace Auto Collection. There are many cars on display that are owned celebrities. To find the Museum you will be looking at hundreds of classic, muscle, and antique cars. I was very impressed with the Alpha Romeo Bats, produced in the 1950's You do have to pay to see these cars, but if you go on the museum's web site you can get coupons, that will provide 2 free admissions. Being from the south it was a pleasant surprise to find out about the Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. It was even more fun to see the collection of Chilean pink Flamingos. The tranquil nature of the habitat will time to reflect as you watch the Swans, ducks and other birds, the Koi fish are beautiful. This is a free exhibit. If you are up to walking the Strip there is nothing more fascinating than the water show at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The water, along with colored lights is synchronized to many different kinds of music. You can find the schedule for the water show by visiting the Bellagio's web site. To continue your visit to the Bellagio you can get out of the heat while visiting their Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The Conservatory is 13,500 feet long; the ceiling is 50 feet high. You will be amazed to see the 42 foot-tall Ferris wheel filled with Sunflowers. Admission is free. The Freemont Experience is a must see. In the summer there are free concerts, along with the light shows If you are want to see wild animals the MGM Grand Lion Habitat is a must. This free exhibit allows you walk through a see through tunnel to offer close and personal views of the lion inhabitants. The lions spend there days the hotel, but as all good works they go home to there 8 ½ acre ranch at night. The admission is free. Unfortunate Events So everything is going great, work was good, kids had a great day at camp. Stop by the store pick up stuff for dinner and a special desert. Call your husband he is running a little late, no worries. This will give you time to start dinner. You arrive home, open the garage door, park the car and enter the house through the kitchen door. Your eyes open wide with fear, you drop the bags on the floor, and a scream comes out of your mouth that not even you have heard. The ceiling is now your floor! Water & plaster everywhere. ID Theft in Nevada Did you know that Nevada is ranked among the top five in identity theft? This theft creates a great deal of strain, and the aftermath can haunt you for years. It is not a quick fix to clearing your name. You will spend a lot of time on the phone, write a lot of letters, but with perseverance you can clear your credit. There is a new program than can help relieve some of the stress. The Attorney General's office of Nevada, offering a special card, showing you were a victim of identity theft. To receive this card you will have to file police reports. You or I don't always realize what ramifications can come with this kind of theft. Not only can they run up bills in your name; but there could be out standing warrants. The Department of Motor Vehicles is trying to do their part to help with this problem. When you go to renew your Driver's License you are issued a license, when scanned offers facial recognition. Life as we currently know it is difficult, but there will always be people who try to cheat the system. We just have to be vigilant. Losing your identity could mean you would not be able to purchase a car, or make a loan.

Free Medical Services With the amount of people who are out of work, and not having healthcare. This is a new program providing free medical care. There are now Take Care clinics inside Walgreens stores, the will be a wonderful thing for those who need it the most. The Take Care clinics provide free service for those out of a job and medical coverage. Those with minor illness's there won't be a charge. You have to provide proof you are not working, and were a previous patient of the Clinic. If you weren't part of the clinic before you lost your job, you will just need to pay for one visit. Right now the waiting time is not long but it may get longer. There are 13 Clinics. The services are open Monday - Friday 11 am - 3 pm. Any prescriptions or vaccinations will not be part of the program.

Parents Gift I had a woman call my office she was calling around to see how much could she borrow on her car. She kept apologizing for asking so many questions. I tried to explain that by asking questions it was the only way to be an informed consumer. She said her oldest daughter needed braces; she didn’t have enough money for the down payment. She and her daughter came to sign the paperwork; they were on the way to the dentist’s office. The daughter was having an attitude about having to get braces; she knew everyone would make fun. The daughter left the office to go by a soda. Her mom then said you know, I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay the down payment to get these braces. All I have is my car. So, here we are.
