The Sky Jump - Stratosphere Hotel and Casino
Are you a thrill seeker? Opening April 2010, The Stratosphere Hotel and Casino will have a new thrill ride. This ride will be called "The Sky jump". The entire experience will take about 30 minutes per rider. The Sky jump will expect to accommodate six to ten jumpers. The attraction will be open from 10 am to 1 am Sunday-Thursday and until 2 am on Friday and Saturday. The ride will cost $100 per jump. The experience is described as a "controlled freefall". It's similar to skydiving and base jumping, riders will hit speeds over 40mph. Of course there will be wires so that participants can remain on course and enjoy their 108-story fall. The decent will slowly become a safe controlled landing. There are some safety concerns; riders will have a safety lesson before they get in a custom jump suit. After that, participants will be connected to a "descender machine". This ride will not only be North American's only sky jump, but will also be the highest sky jump in the world.
