Kids in Las Vegas I have been doing some research, as a grandparent you have your grandchildren come to visit, that means you become a tour director. I know there is a lot to do in Las Vegas for adults. I am amazed at the variety of things for children. Circus Circus is a great way to keep them entertained. It has famous circus acts on the Carnival midway. Where else but Vegas could you see live circus acts for free. The Adventuredome is the largest indoor theme park. The park features the only double loop double corkscrew rollercoaster, The Canyon Blaster. Maybe wild animals are a favorite of you children. The White tiger Habituate is the place to go the tigers belongs to Siegfried & Roy, they are open for viewing around the clock. For more wild animals the Lion Habituate at MGM may fit the bill Is your family in for speed how about the Roller coaster at NASCAR Cafe, it goes 70 miles per hour. But maybe you would like to take a slower pace, there are the Gondola rides at the Venetian, you float along and the gondoliers sing to you. 25 WAYS TO SAVE YOUR SUMMER SANITY In case you haven't noticed the extra noise in your house, is the sound of your children home from school. I am sure they have started with I am bored what can we do. Well here is a start: Turn off the TV and computer. 1. take them to the local pool, or if one is not convenient, there are many inexpensive models for the back yard. 2. Go to the beach, it may not be the ocean, but a lake will do just as well. You might shock them by taking them in the middle of the week. 3. The Zoo would be a great place 4. water parks or an amusement park 5. Take them fishing 6. There are lots of local fairs or possibly a farmers market 7. take lessons in something that might interest them, swimming, horseback riding 8. there is nothing more fun than putt putt golf 9. you can have a picnic, this can be done in the back yard if necessary 10. start a garden 11. take the a picnic to the next level have a camp out in the backyard 12. tell them to go fly a kite, then show them how 13. Find a local park or play ground 14. There is always the favorite American past time Baseball, there is always a game Maybe it rains or to hot 1. the movie is a good place to start 2. keep some board games or coloring books put away then surprise them 3. Keep some crafts that appropriate for there ages 4. Find an indoor skating rink 5. The library has all kinds of things for all ages 6. walk the mall If you work here are some things 1. Day Camp 2. Check with your neighbors, you can help on weekends or nights 3. sports that will keep them busy between games and practices 4. have them volunteer. How to have fun in Las Vegas with out spending all your cash! There are numerous things to do in Las Vegas that have a nominal fee, or are free. The first would be to get your picture taken at the world famous "Welcome to Las Vegas sign." For the last 50 years it has been a must for tourists and locals to be photographed under the sign. The sign is on the National Register of Historic Places. The first one that I found fascinating was the Imperial Palace Auto Collection. There are many cars on display that are owned celebrities. To find the Museum you will be looking at hundreds of classic, muscle, and antique cars. I was very impressed with the Alpha Romeo Bats, produced in the 1950's You do have to pay to see these cars, but if you go on the museum's web site you can get coupons, that will provide 2 free admissions. Being from the south it was a pleasant surprise to find out about the Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. It was even more fun to see the collection of Chilean pink Flamingos. The tranquil nature of the habitat will time to reflect as you watch the Swans, ducks and other birds, the Koi fish are beautiful. This is a free exhibit. If you are up to walking the Strip there is nothing more fascinating than the water show at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The water, along with colored lights is synchronized to many different kinds of music. You can find the schedule for the water show by visiting the Bellagio's web site. To continue your visit to the Bellagio you can get out of the heat while visiting their Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The Conservatory is 13,500 feet long; the ceiling is 50 feet high. You will be amazed to see the 42 foot-tall Ferris wheel filled with Sunflowers. Admission is free. The Freemont Experience is a must see. In the summer there are free concerts, along with the light shows If you are want to see wild animals the MGM Grand Lion Habitat is a must. This free exhibit allows you walk through a see through tunnel to offer close and personal views of the lion inhabitants. The lions spend there days the hotel, but as all good works they go home to there 8 ½ acre ranch at night. The admission is free.
