Parents Gift
I had a woman call my office she was calling around to see how much could she borrow on her car. She kept apologizing for asking so many questions. I tried to explain that by asking questions it was the only way to be an informed consumer. She said her oldest daughter needed braces; she didn’t have enough money for the down payment.
She and her daughter came to sign the paperwork; they were on the way to the dentist’s office. The daughter was having an attitude about having to get braces; she knew everyone would make fun.
The daughter left the office to go by a soda. Her mom then said you know, I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay the down payment to get these braces. All I have is my car. So, here we are. I know my daughter doesn’t want to do this, but as a child my parents weren’t able to my teeth fixed, and I have never liked to smile. But none of my children will have to that problem.
Some day this girl will look back and be thankful for her mother’s ignoring the attitude, and be greatful for her mother’s love.
